Pottery Workshop

Guidelines
• Non-instructional time: projects, wheel throwing, hand-building and glazing

• Open studio is available in 3 hour time blocks to use the facilities.
• Limited to 6 adults at a time.
• Members must purchase clay through the studio.
• It usually takes 3-4 weeks for your pieces to be ready, allowing work to dry.
• Only clay purchased through the studio can be used in the kiln.
• Use only commercial studio glazes, underglazes, and clay.
• All community tools, bats, textures, molds and other studio equipment are available to use. Please return them clean and to the proper place. Do not remove studio equipment/supplies from the studio.
• Label all work with your name masking tape and cover in plastic.
• Please keep clay pieces out of the sink drain. Use trash located by the sink.
• All clay is recycled. Put slip into reclaiming bucket.
• Do not touch work that is not yours. Un-fired green ware and bisque ware are very fragile. Always treat others' work as you would want them to treat yours.
• The studio will fire the kiln when we have a full load. Bisque firing is to cone 04, and cone 6 for glaze firing. Leave your work to be fired on the appropriate shelf. Only work that has been bisque fired at the studio can be glazed in kiln.
• Please keep the studio clean, always using wet cleaning methods.
• All open studio students must have previous pottery experience.
• The studio cannot be responsible if accidents or breakage occur.
• Any work older than three months, or when open studio membership expires, will be considered abandoned and will be trash, donated or recycled.
